Trying to find Cook

I am trying to find details of a Henry Charles Cook who was born in West Ham in 1870. His original surname was Denyer, but he was fostered by Elijah and Mary Ann Cook, who gave him their surname. Henry had a sister Caroline who was born in 1868, and she too was fostered by the Cooks. Caroline is recorded on the 1881 Census as still living with Mary Ann, but there are no details for Henry. Both children were together at the time of the 1871Census. I found nothing in the BMD indices between 1871 and 1881, which suggests that he was still alive in 1881. The children's mother was Caroline Denyer, who we think died in 1871.
