ALEXANDER RUTHERFORD SMITH - Hi everyone, I am desperately trying to find any relatives of Alexander (known as Rutherford) Smith. He was my grandfather (now deceased). Dont know much about him as he and my dad, Hamish Smith, were not on the best of terms prior to his death. All I really know is that he was born in Crieff, Perthshire, Scotland around 1900. He was a very keen angler and worked as a cabinet maker. He was married to my grandmother, Elizabeth (Bessie) Robertson and they had the one son, my dad, Hamish. Unfortunately Bessie died shortly after giving birth to my dad. Rutherford later re-married a lady called, Margaret, and they lived in Crieff until his death. Any help would be greatly appreciated as my dad knows nothing of his father's family and it would be great for him to find out a bit more about his family. Lynn White (nee Smith) |
