Trying to find Jones

I am trying to find any information about my Grandfather - Stuart David Jones. He lived in Cardiff, but the story was that he was born in France (c. 1900 - 1908), although I can't confirm that. He married my Grandmother Minnie Chivers in the mid 1920's, but they parted after my mother's birth in 1928 and I know he moved to London, around the Covent Garden area. It is believed he remarrried and had further children. I have been unable to find either a birth or death certificate and I would love to begin filling in this part of my family tree.
