I would like to find some more information on my gr grandfather William Hall, born 1846 at Swinhoe. He married Margaret Phillis Elizabeth Parker, who had died in 1884. In 1881 I found a William Hall, Innkeeper a 'guest' of HM Queen Victoria, age matches, profession matched, but place of birth was wrong. IN 1891, I found him in the Newcastle Lunatic Asylum [Yes the madness came out in me to have taken up family research], however from what I can gather he may have had a nervous breakdown learning of the death of his brother, Robert who died in 1890. William may have remarried as there is reference to a Mary who is listed as his wife. I believe he may have been moved to an Institution in Sunderland, and may have still been alived in 1915. If anyone can help me find info on him after 1891, I would be pleased to hear from them. Bev |
