Hello everyone, I am trying to find any information on the Jones family who lived at one time in Morris Street, Cwmaman, Aberdare. Anne Jones was my G. Grandmother's sister, she married Shem Jones in 1882 (both born in Fishguard) and they moved to Cwmaman where Shem was employed as a miner. They had 5 children two of them died, and the surviving ones were Thomas Henry Jones, born abt 1886, Dorothy May Jones born abt 1889, and David Nicholas Jones born abt 1890. I have been able to establish that Anne Jones died in May 1928, Shem Jones in August 1913 as they are buried together in Aberdare Cemetery. Also buried together are Elizabeth Ann Jones and William John Jones (who predeceased their parents), and Dorothy May Owen (nee Jones) who died in April 1950, and her husband John Owen who died in April 1962. It is possible that there are descendents of Dorothy and John Owen and of Thomas and David Jones, and I would be very pleased to hear from any of them Regards Janet. |
