My great grandmother Mary Ann Elizabeth Hatton married James Marskell in 1879. My grandmother was named Mary Ann Elizabeth Mayor, nee Marskell and my Mother Mary ann Elizabeth Holt, nee Mayor. I know my mother had cousins who had a cockle and whelk stall on the corner of Edgware Road and Kingsbury Road at the Red Lion, NW London. Would love to trace any Marskells or Hattons

Hi Margaret
My grandmother was also called Mary Anne Elizabeth Marskell nee Green. My grandad was John Marskell born in 1890. They lived in North Kensington not far from Edgware Road.John had a brother Edward born 1888 and 2 sisters Daisy and Loisa who were born in 1883 and 1886. I believe my great grandfathers name to have been Edward who was born in 1831 and married Elizabeth who was born in 1855.
I wonder if it is possible that Edward had been previously married due to the rather large age difference between him and his wife.
Hope this may be of some use to you.
Regards Susan
