Trying to find Smith

Hi, I have recently discovered that my late uncle's first wife was a PHYLLIS SMITH. They were married at St.Thomas Parish Church, Pendleton, Salford in 1934. Phyllis was aged 24yrs. and was living at 63 Church St, Pendleton. Father JOHN SMITH, occupation; glass blower. One of the witnesses was an EDITH SMITH (don't know what relationship to Phyllis!) I believe that Phyllis's mother or grandmother was french. It wasn't until 1979/80 that my late uncle found out that he was able to remarry. Could this be because Phyllis had died? Does anyone recognise this PHYLLIS SMITH or her father JOHN SMITH. I do intend to try to find her birth details and send for her birth certificate but thought that I would post a message, on the off chance, that somebody on this site may have her on their tree. Kind regards........Jaqui
