Re Anne Flynn in Ireland circa 1830-1870s PATRICK LAYDON married ANNE FLYNN producing a son THOMAS LAYDON whose occupation was Coal Pit fire Inspector (probably at Arigna mine and following a heroic rescue of his fellow miners suffered an injury after which Thomas left the mine and later became a horse dealer and moved to Edinburgh where he is buried) as recorded on birth and death cert of Thomas' son JOHN LAYDON (born 1911 and died in Edinburgh 22/09/1988) . Photos. Gravestones. The above named THOMAS LAYDON md MARY BURNS - the daughter of WILLIAM BURNS and ANNE LEVEN. The above named John leydon is one of at least 12 siblings all surnamed Laydon or Leydon including my father Robert Leydon born 1914 died 1968 aged 54 and 5 weeks old. |
