I would make a guess that the 1965 marriage is of Lewis 1936 marriage's son so not connected to your family |

I can't find a birth for John (1857) either.......I too think parents might not have been married. I have lots of distant Clarkson relatives from Lanarkshire but can't find a connection to yours so far |

There are 4 marriages listed for people named Lewis Clarkson (the most unusual of the names) on Scotland's People .....unfortunately as 3 are after 1933 you would need to order the certs at a cost of £10 each |

Aileen, this John is the father of John, b about 1889. Can't find a birth cert. for John, b 1857/1861, born in Carmichael, got marriage cert., and death cert, but no birth or early years census |

John Clarkson, B about 1889 had at least 8 siblings, James, hugh, Lewis, Marion, Grace, Elizabeth, William, Andrew. These people must have had families. |

CLARKSON Looking for info on Dads side . His mum was Margaret Clarkson, nee Cowan, 1895-1975 His Dad John Clarkson b 1895 about died 1941/43.Lived in Edinburgh,or close to., Margarets parents were Alexander Cowan & Margaret (nee King) John's parents were John & Eliza nee Penman. I think most of them were born in Scotland. My Dad was one of 8 children, he was Alexander Cowan Clarkson, brothers John, Gordon, Joseph, James, Lewis, sisters Elizabeth(Bessie) and Margaret.
