Member Since: January 2007 Posts: 11 Send Message	My Gt;Gmother was MARIA SMITH, born 1847, who married STEPHEN FREDERICK DOWELL, a Severn Pilot, in 1870. She died in Stroud in 19O8. Stephen was drowned in 1877 shortly before the birth of his 4th daughter, my grandmother. Maria was the daughter of DANIEL SMITH, also a Severn Pilot. The family lived at Wanswell, Gloucestershire. Any info about any of these would be very welcome. John Porter
