Trying to find Hale

Hi Lisa, no you haven't done anything wrong! It's just easy to fall into a little trap when you search for surnames or follow the suggestions from Genes that there are xxx discussions about a surname - what they don't tell you is that most of those discussions can be years old and are basically obsolete.

As Ann says, if you start a new posting asking for help you'll find lots of people willing to help with your research. Looking at the info you have the Living Relatives board might be the most appropriate.

Have a read through some of the threads on the various boards and it'll give you an idea of how things work.

About the reporting - well you'll see that above each post a member makes there is a button "Report", that's there so members can report posts which breach the rules. It really should only be used in extreme circumstances, if someone has inadvertently "broke a rule" I think it's best to point it out and let them fix it (like you did) but there are a small minority of people who are a bit "trigger happy"!

All in all, these are probably the friendliest and most helpful board of any genealogy site so welcome aboard!

well you've got rid of your email address - now what you need to do is start a posting of your own which should include relevant dates - if these are living people then post on Find Living Relatives, otherwise post on Find Ancestors - hope this helps

Hello Lisa - Margaret made this post over 5 years ago and has not returned to the boards since judging by her number of posts (1).

I'd STRONGLY recommend that you change your board name to something other than your email address, not wise when this isn't a secure site. You may also find people reporting every post that you make as it's against GR policy!

If anyone on here wants to contact you all they need to do is click on your board name (whatever it may be) to send you a direct message. You'd then get an email from Genes telling you about the message.

Seeking any information on BELLA HALE. Possibly born 1948. Byfleet area, Surrey. Thought to be still living in Surrey. Married to George Attwell in 1964, later divorced. Has a son Alan Attwell born in 1964 who moved to Canada with his father in 1973 and has had no contact with his mother since. He would appreciate any information that could assist him in finding her.
