Hi, Im trying to trace my great-grandfather's family from Around Swansea. John Harris was born in or around 1840. He went to sea and ended up living in Cork Ireland in around 1860. He died quite young and am told his family in Swansea wanted to bring his four children back to Swansea to be reared by the grandparents. They did'nt go and continued to live in Cork. They were: Thomas, Maggie, Joseph and Bartholomew. Would love to know his background in Wales (Swansea) if anybody has any information on the Harris from near Swansea around 1839-1860 I would be grateful, Up against a brick wall at the moment, not having a precise birthplace. Thanks. Catherine Murphy |
