Member Since: May 2004 Posts: 0 Send Message	Joe Smith,b1898 d 1956 became the Chief Designer of the Supermarine Spitfire following the death of RJ Mitchell in 1937 and developed the aircraft from Mk1 to Mk24 a tremendous achievment and yet I find it almost impossible to find out anything about him.Where he was born,exactly when,education,date of death and everything in between.Are there any descendents out there? Any Info gratefully received John Bartlett
