tracing Carter family from Lancashire ( Fleetwood / Fylde ). Thought to have been a fishing family. Grandad is Jeffrey Wright Carter married to Elsie Leadbetter together they had Jeffrey and Josie (josephine). They later divorced and Jeffrey remarried a nurse who was caring for him they had a son named John. Jeffrey died roughly around 1947 due to throat cancer or possibly TB. He had sveveral brothers and sisters one of whom is named Reg ( he commited suiced onboard a vessle in Norway / Iceland ) he was never brought home to rest by his wife and children. Elsie had a sister called May who married a guy surname of Bryant. Elsie moved away to Denmark with her children shortly after the divorce where they lived for two years. They then returned to England and set up home in Hull East Yorkshire. She later remarried to Ronald Holiday. Both now deceased. Any information for either Carter or Leadbetter would be appreciated. |
