MONA BLTYH ROBERTS b.1899 STANSFIELD VERNON ROBERTS b.1896 I am looking for any information on the lives and ancestors of Mona and Stansfield Roberts. They are cousins, born on Moss Side, Manchester to Annie and Matilda(Lilian) Roberts (unmarried sisters). Annie and Matilda were inmates at Swinton Industrial School during the 1880's so could be orphans? - The 1901 census shows them as living together with their Children at an address on Moss Side. According to family tales past down, Annie died when Mona was a child and Mona spent a good deal of her childhood in an orphanage. Matilda, later known as Lilian married/changed her name to Beaumont and changed her sons name to Stanley Beaumont. She later married again(?) and became Lilian Mitchell. Stansfield(Stanley) Beaumont went on to become a high ranking officer in the Army. If this rings any bells for anyone I would love to hear from you. This bit of our family tree must have quite a story behind it and I would dearly like to know more.
