Member Since: September 2006 Posts: 2 Send Message	Hi, Have just discovered some positive info re a ´family mystery´ as to why on my dads mums side, Ransomes from Harpley, Norfolk - Chapman was used for a while and then changed back to Ransome! Can anyone tell me about Thomas Ransome b. 1772. d. 19.11.1851. married Elizabeth Relfe (who died 22.05.1839) 03.11.1794 Harpley,Norfolk.? Who were the parents of Thomas? He had 1 daughter we know, called Sarah born 1801 -THIS is the link! - who had illigitimate son, John Ransome by a John Chapman - married him in 1825,Harpley,Norfolk. He was my Gt.Grandad Ezra Ransomes father! Anyone who can fill in the other missing pieces of this would be very welcome please!! i.e. Anyone know about a Frederick Chapman who married Elizabeth Reeve? Son,Walter Robert .d.o.b.13.02.1874.d. 20.02.1949. Is he related to a HENRY RANSOME B. 1811. M. Martha? - children Charles 1836. Elizabeth 1838,Elija 1844(had daughter Jermima) Jacob 1846,Sarah Ann 1848,Henry 1849,Emily 1850. All born in Harpley,Norfolk. THERE is also a Frederick Ransome 1856 m. Charlotte Johnson 1856. 4 girls - Emily 1881 Sally 1882,Ethel,1888, Edith Hilda,1899. Is he linked to us anywhere??! Thanks to anyone out there! Carolyn Slingsby (nee Boyce)
