thought id found my kate.... my kate was born in about 1875, we lost contact with her records as she went into service (place unknown) well i hope you find your kate. regards christine |

Is anyone here related to CATHERINE 'KATE' GOODING born c 1861, possibly at Benhall in Suffolk, and died in Essex c 1907? She married BENJAMIN BROOKS in Essex c 1896. Family lore has it that Benjamin was from Yorkshire, but I don't know whereabouts. The 1901 census shows Kate living in Ilford, Essex with her children WINIFRED KATE (WINNIE) BROOKS, ELEANOR CONSTANCE FLEUR (CONNIE) BROOKS and ERIC REGINALD BROOKS. Benjamin was not listed on the census and I'm intrigued to know where he was as he was certainly living with Kate and their children at the time of her death. After Kate's death, Benjamin married AGNES DAWSON and went on to have a further five children, including my mum. If anyone knows anything about Kate or Ben, I'd love to hear from them. Thank you. |
