I am searching for information regarding Patrick Hanrahan born c 1900 who married Johanna Roche in Ballybricken in 1921. His occupation at the time of marriage was soldier and his father is named as Patrick on the wedding certificate. He lived in Waterford for many years and worked on the ferry that took people over to Waterford castle, which is now a hotel in the grounds of waterford golf club. When Patrick worked there, his wife gave birth to two of their four children. They lived in the little cottage on the island which is still standing and can be seen clearly from the mainland. Patrick lived in Gradys Lane, Waterford between 1925 (or earlier) but this is the earliest record I have. and 1934, when his wife Johanna, died aged 32, from a heart condition, leaving Patrick to care for the children. He died in the early 80's and I believe he was living in accommadation for the elderly somewhere in Waterford, possibly in Hennessy Road.
