Hope you're still around Jayne. I've several Alexander REIDFORDs in 19th C NE Scotland. Can you tell me who yours' married? I'm a direct descendant of the REIDFORDs of Corkie Farms Marnoch, all male line down to my Mum (ms REIDFORD born Glasgow 1926).

Warm regards,

Trena

Jayne Redford: My branch of the Redford's comes from Banffshire in North-eastern Scotland. We're scattered now around Scotland and the world. Our commom ancestor was Alexander Redford who was an agricultural labourer in the area in the early 19th century. In parish and census records the name is written as Reedford, Reidford and Reedfuird. Relations who live there and in other Scottish rural areas still pronounce the name that way.
