BARR/McCulloch/hutton Seeking any information on James Barr (my paternal grandfather) he was living at 34 St Lawrence St, Greenock in 1896, he had an illegitimate son (my father) born 1896 Port Glasgow to Christina McCulloch, she later married Joseph Hutton in 1898 and my father was listed on the 1901 census as James Hutton (Port Glasgow) Christina died in 1914 and my father then assumed the name of Barr (why?) Have just recently discovered these facts on researching my paternal line, and would love to know if there are any relatives out there who can supply more information. Can anyone tell me what family lived at 34 St Lawrence St, I live in Essex England, so have no opportunity to research in Scotland. Can anyone help? |
