My name was Marie Kippen (Mary until aged 11). My father was John Thomas Kippen, born in sound of Bow Bells, one of 16 children to Loo and Albert Kippen. They lived in Lambeth in Tyre Street for a long time. The only living relatives that I know of (within my dad's group of brothers and sisters) are his younger brother James (Uncle Jim) and his sister Mary Kippen (who married and became a Hickey). All the older siblings have now passed away. There was a brother Fred who moved to Canada and lost some fingers in the war, I believe his twins were called Karen and John. We have a lot of sets of twins in the family now. My brother John Kippen has had two sets of twins - one set live near Croydon called Alexander and Thomas. My father always told us our name was unusual, but I have found 110 on this website alone. Have you been to visit the village of Kippen in Sterlingshire, Scotland - dad always said it existed but we never believed him, he always boasted that we were from Viking decent and that the Kingdom was Kippen (which exists) was where our family were Kings - my dad always said he was a King.
