Hello: My name is Clayton King, I'm from the US. My family tree hits a dead end in Virginia at the end of the 1700s. I am a client of Family Tree DNA and am trying to learn something via genetics as a way around the failure of a paper trail. If any King on this board has had a y chrom. DNA test (through any company) and would be willing to exchange data, I would be very grateful. There is a King surname project through FTDNA which I am a part of, which you may wish to join. My educated guess is that my King line originates in England, and perhaps in Cheshire or environs. However, this is the kind of thing I would like to determine by finding a DNA match or two in Great Britain. Any reply at all would be much appreciated. Thanks, Clayton |
