I AM 63 YEARS OLD AND LIVE IN ASHTON U LYNE LANCASHIRE. I UNDERSTAND TAT THE FIRST TIME THE NAME WAS RECORDED WAS FOR THE 'HEATH TAX' IN THE 1400's. WHICH WAS A TAX LEVIED ON THE AMOUNT OF LAND ONE OWNED. I WOULD BE INTERESTED IN CORRESPONDANCE FROM OTHER PICKERSGILL'S
