DAVID. MY NAME IS ROY PICKERSGILL SECOND SON OF HORACE BADEN PICKERSGILL WHO WAS BORN IN FEATHERSTONE YORKSHIRE. I AM 63 YEARS OLD AND LIVE IN ASHTON U LYNE LANCASHIRE.
I UNDERSTAND TAT THE FIRST TIME THE NAME WAS RECORDED WAS FOR THE 'HEATH TAX' IN THE 1400's. WHICH WAS A TAX LEVIED ON THE AMOUNT OF LAND ONE OWNED. I WOULD BE INTERESTED IN CORRESPONDANCE FROM OTHER PICKERSGILL'S

MY GREAT GRANDMOTHER WAS CALLED SARA PICKERSGILL AND SHE WAS BORN IN OSSETT YORKSHIRE IN 1962 HER PARENTS WERE EDWARD AND HARRIET. EDWARDS PARENTS WERE DIAVID PICKERSGILL AND MARTHA GOMMERSALLOF DEWSBURY MARRIED IN 1819.
