COOPER & FLEET Family Conections: I am trying to discover the UK roots of my line of COOPER. I have documented research as far back as a Fleet Cooper, Sr., born 1725 in Virginia, USA, and died around 1802 in North Carolina USA. The unusal forename of 'Fleet' leads me to believe that he might have been related to that surname family. Some researchers believe he was descended out of the line of George Ashley, brother of Anthony Ashley-Cooper 1st Earl of Shaftesbury, but that cannot be documented at the present. Regards, Gary W.
