Hello, Martin. Only just picked up your 'trying to find' and wonder how far you've got with the Shreeves research. I was born a Shreeves and in my late teens worked at the local police station where Lilly Shreeves, of Betrice Street, Kempston, was the cleaner/tea lady. She had two sons Maurice, who had, I believe, lost a leg and John - also a daughter Mary who at that time lived in Wootton-under-Edge. My father was son of Herbert (b 1868) and Annie Shreeves, fourth son of James (b 1833) and Elizabeth. I have a fairly comprehensive family tree (researched by someone else). Please let me know if I can be of any further help - or maybe I'm too late to add anything. Dorothy

My name is Martin David Perry, changed from Shreeves by deedpoll in 1966. I was born in 1954 in South Woodford, London E18 - one of two sons, my brother being called Richard Maurice (b1948) My father's name is Maurice Arthur Shreeves, who was born in Kempston, Beds. c1930 - one of two brothers, the other being John. Their mother's name was Lileth Shreeves and she lived in Beatrice Street, Kempston. Having traced my family history on my mother's side, I am trying to find some clues about the Shreeves family in Bedfordshire, so I can start to trace my history from there. Any information would be appreciated.
