Hi, Trying to locate family members from 1800 century, My grandfather informs me that his father GEORGE KING was born in the PERTH AREA OF SCOTLAND and he had 5 siblings ANNIE, JOHN, MARGARET,WILLIAM AND JAMES. Unfortunatly John died on the Cairnmona when it sank at war in 1918. I know they were ll born between 1887 and 1898. Can anyone help? My grandfather is 82 and tells me that grandfathers in our family for generations have passed on that we were actually born McGregors, but as the McGregors were being killed for being loyal to Bonnie Prince Charlie we changed our name to King to prevent our death!!!. Has anyone else heard this story? |
