Dear Sally,
My grandfather was also John McConkey. He was probably born circa 1835/ 1845 in Donaghadee. He married an Agnes Angus and had 8 children, the youngest of them being my father. I know he had relations in Newtownards and Bangor. He was a builder by trade.
