Im researching Family tree and come to a halt. my grandmother violet jone's mother hannah eliza gillard married Alfred jones from Bridgend . he was a sign writer , maybe had a brother mat ( she vaguely remembers there was a mary and twins in the family) Alfreds parents had a grocers on the main road in bridgend she thinks it might be coity or coychurch road. Hannah and Alfred had three children Dorothy, constance and my grandmother violet.their mother died after giving birth to my nan. the three girls were brought up by their grandmother louisa gillard nee budd. but alfred jones remarried and settled in cardiff and had two children . he later died in the 1950s after an accident where he fell off a ladder. if these notes ring any bells please contact me as i need to complete the jones ,s side of the family tree thanks jan |
