Find Ancestors

Looking for birth date of Kathleen Margaret Smith known as Kit, last heard of in Streatham during the early 1950's, and also Thornton Heath. This lady is my mother who I have not heard of or seen since the very early 1950's.. after being placed in Surrey County Council care, I now have access to my records.. I was not adopted... I have the marriage certificate to my late father George Edward Laker May 1947, in which Kathleen is stated as being 20 years at time of marriage.... Have been trawling through all birth certificates now for 1 year, and as of yet have been unsuccessful in obtaining the correct one. I am awaiting information from TraceLine....... Received letter which states my mother passed away in July 1994, the death was registered in Wandsworth under the name of Darnell, so it would appear that my mother re-married at some time . I have contacted Wandsworth, Lambeth and South Norwood Registry Offices but they do not have a record of her last resting place, one day.......... Am in the process of applying for the death certificate and birth certificate in the hope that more information might be forthcoming. We shall see.......
