I was born Joy ce V Smith and I am looking for the death of my great grand father Thomas Oak Smith he was a Royal Marine Colour Sergeant he was born in Christchurch Middlesex according to his Military records, he was stationed in Chatham, & Sheerness from time to time. He also served on the Basilisk in the 1871 census. He met my grandmother Annie Ward nee Cashfield who had been desserted by her husband, Annie took the name of Smith and they had five children. two boys and one girl died the other was my grand father who died befor I was born. William ( or Willie) was born in Chatham Kent 1879 he married Emily Elizabeth Ashton in Luton Kent 1902. William seemed to be involved in Mineral Water manufacturing according to the 1901 census, I know nothing of his life after that. His mother re married John Harrison from Frindsbury Kent an (Undertaker fom Strood Kent) he died 1897, but no death for Annie either! Any news would be appreciated. Joy
