my name is helen hart maiden name lewis . i am trying to find any other relatives of my grgr grandmother catherine lewis. all i know about her is that in 1897 she had a daughter named alice lewis and she was born at the union workhouse in swansea. sometime later catherine married a william marks dont know exact date of marraige. the marraige was registered in breckonshire.catherine also may have had two sets of twins, shortly before 1897, i would appreciate any help or info you can give me. many thanks alice had two children dorothy and daniel, but on dorothys birth cert it is showing that her mother was a woman called mary maud marks dont know iff alice and mary were the same person, all a bit confusing at the moment my grandmother dorothy also had a younger brother called danny and he was an albino.i have been told that my grgr grandmother catherine originated from seven sisters i have alsoway.otherwise also known as blaendulias in the county of brecknoshire, would any lewises, who have lived in that area or who have left the area, and later returned, please contact me iff you have any info, regardless of how little it may be, as this is really proving to be a stumbling block many thanks i have also discovered, that catherines daughter who was born in 1897, and who she named alice may lewis, was in fact firstly named as mary maud marks. so for whatever reason catherine decided to give her daughter a new identity. i also think that catherine was born in 1877, and on the 1891 census she was 14 yrs old and the census said that she was with her grandparents david and catherine lewis. iff anybody recognises this info then please let me know. |
