Hi Brian,
My name is Joanne and I was a Wordie before I married. My fathers family came from Stirling, Scotland. My grandfather was John Wordie who was born here in Australia. His father also being John who was born in 1856 in Stirling to Robert Wordie and Susan Fraser. My Uncle actually visited Scotland in the sixties and met some of he Wordies and I was to believe that they were in the Moving business. Would be interested to find out if any of this sounds familiar to you.
Thanks.

Brian

Hi there im Brian Wordie i live in stirling and there arent alot of wordie's around, from what i know the name wordie has alot of history in stirling and were very big in antiques and dealing. Most or alot of the land in stirling was owned by the wordie family. I would be glad to speak to anyone to learn a little more as it is a very unique name and as far as im aware my family tree traces back to America at some stage and im still finding lots more facts as i go along. Thanks.
