I am seeking some links with Thomas Young's parents & sibling and any information up to when he joined the military to proceed back on my family history. Thomas Alexander YOUNG was born 3 November 1816 (bible entry only), Elgin, Moray, Scotland. He enlisted in the 2nd Rifle Brigade (origionally the 95th foot (rifle) until the name change in 1816) No. 3160 Elgin Co. Moray, 5th November 1831, 17. He married Elizabeth Davidson on 16 July 1852 in Elgin with the only details being the Elgin Old Parish Registers entry No. 41, of 16 July 1852, describing the marriage and Thomas as a labourer. He departed on-board Stag 05 February 1855 from London arriving at Fremantle on the Stag on 23rd May 1855 and died in West Guilford W.A. on 27th December 1873 of bronchitis. Thanks |
