Dear Eileen,

came across your post as your grandmother was Hannah Tolhurst who was my great great grandfather's sister.

Would be interested in any info as both Wrattens and Tolhursts are originally from Dymchurch/Romney so quite a lot of overlap.

Just seen this is in reply to a message you posted in 2006...well you never know!

My fathers family were born and breed in the Romney Marsh area of Kent and I have evidence of a few records of marriages that go back far early 1800. There is a mention of a marriage between Nicholas Wratten of Broomhill ( a dilapidated Parish Church adjoining the Parish of Lydd) and Mary Skewers of Broomhill. The marriage is dated 23rd February 1806. If anyone would be interested in the Wratten information I have please contact me. Eileen Trigg (nee Wratten)
