I am trying to trace my Nana, Alice Mcgivern. She was born in Scotland 1908 and moved to London with her Brother, I believe she became an orphan at a young age. She was later to move to Liverpool and marrie into the name Gogarty.

I realise it's been a long time since you posted this but I have only just got back onto this site after a long break. I came across your post and wondered whether you ever got anywhere with your search.
My maiden name was Gogarty. My Grandad was born in Liverpool in 1901. On his birth certificate it was spelt Goggerty and he was born to Winifred who I believe was not married. I think she went on to have Edward (Teddy) who married Alice McGivern in 1931 and Philip. All were Gogartys so I assume she never married!

Tricia, I suggest you try sending a message to Bernard by clicking on his name - as you say, this is a very old posting. If Genes has his current email address he will be notified of your message.
He only ever posted twice so might not respond.
