I have a marriage license between George Green and Mary Anne Walton who are not, unfortunately the George Green and Mary Anne in my line! Hopefully they may be in yours, so here is the info: 1867 Marriage solemnized at the Independent Chapel of Hallfold, district of Rochdale in the county of Lancaster. No 25 Date 1 June 1867 between George Green 22 years bachelor (Shoe Maker) Higher Change ?Bacifer, father John Green (shoemaker); and Mary Anne Walton 21 years Spinster (Cotton Spinner) Green Mill Spotland, father John Walton (Cotton Weaver). Married in the Independent Chapell at Hallfold, according to the Rites and Ceremonies of the Independents by Certificate by me, Joseph Oddy Minister. Signed by George Green, Mary Anne could only make her mark. Witnessed by Abraham Wolfenden and George Oddy and apparently by Robert Scholfield Registrar also. Regards andrea
