Looking for a John Davies who married an Alice Benham. I think Alice came from Alresford in Hampshire. Alice and John definately married in Alresford in 1917. They definately had at least 3 girls Alice Davies born alresford 1918 (Dont know anything more about her) Violet Margaret Winifred Davies born Alresford 1919 She married a Ernest George Kimber in 1942 and lived in Toller Porcorum Dorset and had 3 children. They divorced and she married Janis Zirnis who was from Latvia. They moved to Cirencester where she had a further 4 children. Violet died in April 1994 of Cancer. Iris Davies not sure when she was born. But she married a Canadian during the war or possibly just after and went back to Canada with him, where she went on to have a family. I believe from Violet's first marriage certificate that her father John Davies was recorded as deceased. John is also recorded as being a labourer. Whilst searching through the BMD's I also came across 2 other children that have the same parental surnames(father Davies, Mother Benham) listed but may or maynot be connected. They were Stanley J. Davies b1912 Headington, Oxford Winifred s. Davies b1914 Headington, Oxford Would love to hear from who looking into either Davies/Benham surnames and that this rings a bell with. kindest regards karen |
