Hello, spotted your message on thesurname boards and wondered if any of your family came from the Monk Frystone area of Yorkshire? The name Sainter is unusual and back in 1839, yes 1839, my gt.gt grandfather entered the name James Sainter on his marriage certificate as his father, in spite of the fact that his name was James Newby, we assume he was illegitimate but knew who his father was, or was James Sainter his father in law? we are quite desperate to solve this puzzle hope to hear from you regards Joan D'Arcy |
