I am trying to trace ancestors and descendants of Samuel Bruton. He was born around 1800 and was married in the Temple Church in Bristol to Elizabeth Ann in 1825. At some point I think he became a Wesleyan lay preacher and moved to the Dursley/Cam area of Gloucestershire. He had a number of children Charles (1826) Henry (1827) another around 1832 and Alfred (1839). They are all in the Census in Dursley/Cam in 1841 but then they disappear. I have Alfred and what he got upto and have a large tree from that point. I would appreciate any help in tracing Samuel. Even if it is just advice where to look for lay preachers. Marcus |

I have an ancestor named James Bruton, born in Dursley in 1821, 2 children born there, the next 3 in Bristol. I have a tree direct from there through his 5th child, Frederick. If you have had any earlier answers do they show any connection? |
