Hallo John Gater,
My maiden name was Fallows. In the 1851 British census one of my ancester William Fallows and his wife Maria is listed as having a three year old son John. I wonder is this is your ancestor. They are living in Pilkington, (I am not sure where that is), The district on the 1851 census is not very legiable but I guess we could find out if you think this is your ancestor, John bytheway was born in Prestwich.

Hi My Name is John Gater, I reside in Western Australia and I am attempting to locate any persons related to John Fallows born around 1850-60. He was employed as a Potter and I think he was married to Annie Francis, they had a daughter my Grandmother Sarah Ann Fallows. I think they came from the Staffordshire area. Sarah Ann Fallows married my Granfather John Gater in 1906. RegardJohn Gater
