Hi, I am trying to trace family from my fathers side, but have come to a full stop, and any help would be much appreciated. My dad was Reginald Smith born Jan 1917 in Reading, Berks. His parents were Alice East and George Smith. I can trace Alice's family back but I am stuck on George Smith. He died during WWI - no idea when - I have also been unable to trace a marriage certificate for Alice and George. (Alice was single (age 16)on the 1901 census, so they would have married anytime after that. I know my dad was one of about 10 children but do not know the names of any of his brothers/sisters. May be I will just have to wait until 2011 when I can get an idea from the 1911 census. |
