Grant Report 18 Feb 2004 14:13

Hi I am researching my grandmother's family of Grants, who were living in Fortrose, Ross and Cromarty in the 1880's to 1900's. My grandmother's name was Anne Georgina Cruickshank Grant. She was a daughter of Andrew Grant(1845-1896) and Margaret Brown Cruickshank(1850-1921). Andrew was a Hotel Keeper and ran the Royal Hotel, in Fortrose, from the early 1880's till his death from a fractured skull in 1896. His wife carried on running the hotel as she was still there by the time of the 1901 census. Andrew and Margaret had a large family of 10 children. Andrew Grant was the son of Walter Grant, a Mason, and Margaret Scot Brown Elder.
