Hi I am trying to trace my ancestors on my mothers side. Her name was Ethel Geddes dob 30.11.1908 now deceased and I believe she was born in Newcastle. I know she originated from the Byker area of Newcastle and her family lived in Oban Road, although it may well no longer exist. Her fathers name (my Grandfather) was a Douglas Marshall Geddes, who I believe originated from Aberdeen. I never knew who her real mother (my grandmother) was. She told me before she died that my Grandfather had married again at some time to a Mary Hay Maughan (formerly Stephenson). but that is as far as I can go so far. If anyone out there can recall the Geddes family from Oban Road, Byker or think they may by related in any way please contact me to exchange information, and hopefully extend our family.
