Looking for information on MICHAEL CLARK and his son PATRICK CLARK (c1841) both born in Ireland. PATRICK at least came to Sunderland England prior to 1861 census and married MARIA GIBSON in 1866. There were 2 daughters MARY and SARAH JANE and 4 sons JOHN , BARTHOLOMEW, PATRICK and MICHAEL at far as I know.

Hi,

My Grandfather was Micheal, he was born in Sunderland area in early 1900's His father was from County Mayo - Ireland, unfortunately that's all I know about his parents, although his daughter (my mother) Maureen had the middle name Maria. Could there be a connection? As far as I remember, my grandfather was named after his grandfather and the name Micheal has run through that side of the family ever since. Apparently, the family's orginal name was Cleary, they changed it to Clark when they moved to england to make it easier to get work.

Regards.
Jacqui.
