I am told I have an Eric ? Stokes in the family roughly about the date of yours. Not known who he married etc but geographically you are about the right area. I havef had trouble tracing my Stokes from their birth point.
Finding mine only three generations back and little information on those really in terms of where they were born only the death but I know my Eric had a brother Frank who went to Rhode Island USA
There may have been others possibly Ralph or Frederick and if right then Frederick was my paternal grandfather Eric his brother who incidentally left home suddenly one day no reason given and never returned and has not showed up any census
Frederick however lived and died in Wokingham

My grandparents Eric Robert STOKES(c1926) and Doreena Florence JONES(c1924) were cousins. Doreena's mother was a STOKES originally. Eric's was Alice BURTON born Aldershot(c1899). We are now a Kentish family but I have little knowledge of where we originated. Alice's father was Regimental Sergeant Major Robert BURTON.
