He was a Bailiff for H Chawner esq - who was employing 5 farm labourers and 5 boys, and a landed proprietor of 517 acres.

Did you look at the IMAGE?

Can anyone decipher the occupation of Maria's father, Felix, on the 1851 census. It says something about a bailiff but also mentioning farm employees.
Maria Louisa Allam was born 1840 in Newton Valence, Hampshire.
