Just read through posts again and saw birth and death for Gerrit posted by ArgyllGran. Sorry, I missed that. Thank you. |

Thanks everyone. I checked with my son-in-law's mother and she vaguely remembers some talk. She contacted a family member in Netherlands who confirmed that the post by ArgyllGran is definitely the Egbert in her family. An interesting story. Thank you all for your help. |

Added later? I think it was more that we crossed. I was trying to check that the link had come up properly ( it hadn’t). I the immediately added the second line. |

There is info on there about three online trees which include Egbert - may be worth Yvonne following up on them |

Could well be. I just looked on familysearch for Egbert and found a marriage for Gerrit Veen to Elisabeth Groenhuijzen in 1915. His parents were given as Egbert Luten Veen and Hendrika Maria Greveling. Gerrit was shown as Master Sergeant of Artillery. |

My apologies. I meant to put Netherlands in the subject, of course that would've helped. This family belongs to my son-in-law and the information I have is from his mother. |

Looks like a Dutch name so Ede is probably in the Netherlands. |

I'm hoping someone with a world subscription can see any info on Gerrit Veen. The only info I have is that he was possibly married to Elizabeth ??. He definitely had a daughter, Agatha Maria Veen, b. 1929 in Ede, who married and eventually moved to Canada. I am told that Gerrit died in 1966. |
