Hi ,I am trying to trace parents of Elizabeth Kerr and where she would be born ,I have her in my tree married to my 2nd cousin Horace porritt in grimsby n 1946,I cannot find her on freebmd ,but believe she was born in 1920 ,her middle name is B or brown ,can anyone help me hear please .regards sandra xxx

I had a few credits left for Scotlandspeople so:-

Elizabeth Brown Kerr was born 10th June 1920 at 5.10 am at 42 (or 47as the image is smudged) Springfield Road, Denny.
Father is James Kerr, coal miner
Mother Helen Kerr (maiden surname Cumiskey)
James and Helen Married in Denny on 15th December, 1914.
James registered the birth on 1st July 1920
The Assistant Registrar was James G. Hall.

If she was still living in Scotland in 1939, then obviously she won't be on the 1939 Register for England and Wales.

The Scottish 1939 Register isn't searchable like the English one.
However, if you get a copy of her death cert, you can apply for a copy of her entry in the Scottish 1939 Register, for a fee of £15.

I think it was only her parents names and place of birth that Sandra was looking for.

Thank you everyone for your help ,did not realise she was from scotland so no wonder I could not find her in England, I will go on Scottish people and get some credits from there and check out from there ,let you know how I get on ,thank you Kathleen for the scotish link and parents name in scotland ,regards sandra x

I have been busy with great success ,with all the links above from the help you have all given me in this post in the past , ,I now have a link to a wedding photo I have here with everyones first name on it and the date 1950,with all the help you have given me in the past ,I have now traced all the names on the photo to the cumiskey side of the family ,who are the uncle and cousins of Elizabeth Brown Kerr ,its lovely to link up faces to photos ,I have lots more photos ,but no idea who's who ,this is the 3rd one I have names to now and I have put them on their profiles.sometimes the surname of Comiskey it is spelt a bit different ,but looking on censors and names they are all the same ,it is just Beatrice that's a bit odd as on some censors they have her down as Bridgett.The wedding was in Cook Illinois USA where the family moved too.I cant see a link in the message here to share the photo with you all ,but it is on my tree ,and they all have it on their profile photos ,now to try and see if I can link a few more photos to family on here ,thank you all once again best wishes sandra
