I have Elizabeth McClennen born Carlisle 1811
She married William HILL 1811 from Brampton Carlisle
i am trying to find any siblings for either them
Ihave info that one of there siblings died and was listed has insane
My 2xgt grandad was also in the metal hospital he was a nephew to one of there siblings

The only William Hill 1811 Brampton that I can see is this one - who married Sarah Hetherington, not an Elizabeth.

He's on all the censuses from 1841 to 1891. I'm only posting 1841 and 1891.

When i obtained his medical records it was stated he had an Uncle who was also a lunatic
his dad was William Hill 1811 Brampton Cumberland
his mother was Sarah Hethrington 1811 St Cuthberts Carlisle Cumberland
Sorry Sarahs mother is Elizabeth McCLENNEN 1785
William and Sarah married Gretna Green in 1834

I can't see anything for Sarah Hetherington earlier than her marriage.

The marriage record says she is "of the parish of Brampton".

1841 says born Cumberland; 1851 and 1871 say born Banks,Cumberland; 1861 says born Brampton.


William is also "of the parish of Brampton".
1851 says Longtown, Cumberland; 1861 ,1881 and 1891 say Brampton; 1871 says Arthuret, Cumberland;


Can't see his baptism, unless this is it, some time after his birth - and if so, clearly an illegitimate birth :

There are other Hetherington baptisms in the area/time-scale with parents William and Elizabeth on FMP,

Utterly speculative and can't c& p as on tablet.

No idea of ages at death, would need to be checked on death index to see if the right ages to be possibilities, but just in case you do find siblings for Sarah or William, it might narrow things down.

There were a lot more entries for Hill nationwide, but I put Cumberland in the search field, so think they came up at the beginning. Also some later Hetherington entries, but probably too late to be sibs of William or Sarah.

Edward was born 1830, parents Edward and Tamar.

John was born 1813 and was a tailor.

Thomas was born 1834 and was a farmer.

William poss born 1828. In the workhouse in 1881. Unmarried house painter.


James Hill poss born 1831.
