Are the parish records for Plymouth online. Like the lancashire ones on lopc. Looking for a marriage 1955. Found it on freebmd but thought I would try elsewhere before I send for marriage certificate.

The marriage is on FMP, with a link to "View image" available to subscribers, of whom I am not one.

Whether that would let you see the actual marriage cert or not, I don't know.
It seems rather recent for that to be the case.

FMP says it has Devon Parish marriages and Banns spanning 1507 to 2002.

No results for the marriage you're interested in (closest is 1953).

Could be it wasn't a parish marriage or it was RC or Registry Office.

Googling will tell you where to find Devon records

Hmmm -
I've tried posting the FMP URL link, but the full thing is very long, distorts the page, and doesn't open to the actual record in any case.
Neither does a TinyURL link.

But the marriage is definitely on FMP.
I found it by searching for Joseph Corke marriage, 1955 Devon.

Thank you everyone. Just found out that they came frome Liverpool and married in Plymouth as Joseph was in the navy. Didn't know they had 5 children only knew about 3

The children's births are easily found on FreeBMD - just search for births with the parents' surnames - no need for anything else in this case, as the name combination is unusual.
